Turn of the Year Update

Friends,

I am celebrating the turn of the year with a happy outburst of exhibitions. Here are some:

1. My show in Wiesbaden, Germany, “Reminiszenzen aus Deutschland,” with photographs of my life in Displaced Persons camps in postwar Germany (1945-49), that opened on June 15 at the Stadtmuseum, has been extended until the 30th of this month.

2. The Wiesbaden series of photographs, under the title “Images Out of Darkness,” is also currently on view at James Fuentes Gallery in New York (October 5-28).

3. And today the Wiesbaden show will also open at the Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center in Vilnius, Lithuania (Oct. 16 – Nov. 15).

4. On November 6, Potemkine, Re:Voir and agnès b.will be releasing a DVD box-set with some of my key films (Walden, Lost Lost Lost, Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania, The Brig, As I was Moving Ahead…, and a selection of shorter works).

5. An exhibition of my photo prints from early Williamsburg, Brooklyn days (1949-52) will be opening on Nov. 9 (to Dec.29) at the Galerie du jour agnès b., in Paris.

6. On November 30 a complete retrospective of my films and videos will open at the Centre Pompidou in Paris (Nov. 30 – Jan. 7). A 200-page catalogue raisonné of my work will come out on the same occasion, published by Paris Experimental.

7. On Dec. 5 a large exhibition of my installations, prints, and sound pieces will open at the Serpentine Gallery in London, with a premiere of my new film, Out-takes From the Life of a Happy Man (Dec. 5 – Jan. 27).

8. On Dec. 6 at BFI Southbank, London, a retrospective of my film/video works will open (Dec. 6 – Jan. 27).

9. Anthology Film Archives will be screening a selection of my films Dec. 15-23.

10. On Jan. 23 the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague will present my 365 Day Project (Jan. 23 – April 22).
